Job Title: Underwriting Analyst

Location: Morris Plains, NJ

Employment Type: Full-Time (Hybrid)

Provides broad support to members of the General Aviation Underwriting Department in the areas of research and
development of pertinent underwriting information, day to day servicing, routine follow-up for outstanding information
and completion of policy documents necessary for issuance of new and existing policyholders. Further duties and
responsibilities are listed below:

• Load underwriting models including endorsements and coverages where applicable.
• Create an underwriting analyst pack which consists of researching risks, loading underwriting models including endorsements and coverages, and generate reports showing premium and loss information and peer review them for accuracy.
• Complete Analyst checklist for each file.
• Issue policy, quote, and binder documents along with Mid-Term changes as directed by the Underwriting Team.
• Assist the Underwriting Team on credit control items.
• Assist Underwriting Team in proofreading documents for final mailing.
• Provide administrative support as directed by the Underwriting Analyst Team Lead.
• Review policy detail report and highlight any discrepancies with the sales team. Assist in rectifying the issues.
• Contact brokers, head office or other regional offices as directed by the Underwriting Analyst Team Lead or Underwriting Manager.
• Maintain proficiency in systems and interface with these systems at the direction of Underwriting staff.

Qualifications

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred

Skills/Experience:

Required:
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Previous experience working in a role that required strong analytical skills and precise attention to details.
• Ability to work independently and to conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted underwriting practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred:
• Two to three years’ experience with insurance underwriting type activities
• Previous experience working in Finance or Accounting
• Strong Mathematical skills
