Global Aerospace Joins Inaugural Futures Academy Talent Drive
On Monday, 10th July, Global Aerospace will be welcoming two students into our business as part of a market-wide drive to make specialty insurance a destination career. The Year 12 students will be within a cohort of 115 who will spend a fortnight in the London market; their first week participating in collective activities organised by the London Market Group and their second here with us in our offices. The Academy will culminate in a careers’ fair on Friday July 14th.
Global’s CEO, Rachel Barrie, said “We are pleased to welcome the students to Global Aerospace. We hope to increase their knowledge of the aviation insurance industry, build awareness of the career options available to them and inspire them to apply for early career opportunities in the future.”
It is the first time that market firms have come together to tackle the industry’s recruitment crisis; and it is expected that this will become an annual event. The programme has been developed in co-ordination with Visionpath, who help employers to inspire, engage and hire socially-diverse school leavers.
The aim of the initiative is to build the profile of specialty insurance as a positive career choice among students at a point in their life when they are thinking about entry level roles, apprenticeships, or university. Nearly 50 firms across the market are participating in the Futures Academy.
